Here are a few examples of how to use "availed" in a sentence:

* Formal: "Despite the company's generous offer, the employee did not avail himself of the opportunity to relocate."

* Informal: "I availed myself of the free coffee at the conference, which was much appreciated."

* With a specific action: "The hiker availed himself of the shelter during the storm."

* To show a missed opportunity: "She had the chance to study abroad, but she did not avail herself of the opportunity."

Important Note: "Availed" is often followed by "himself/herself/themselves" or "itself" when referring to people or things taking advantage of something.
