Should the word journalism be capitalized?

The word "journalism" is not typically capitalized unless it's part of a proper noun, like a specific publication or program:

* Correct: I'm interested in journalism.

* Correct: I'm a student in the Journalism program at the University of California, Berkeley.

* Correct: I read The New York Times for its journalism.

Exceptions:

* Titles: If "journalism" is part of a title, like "The Future of Journalism," it should be capitalized.

* Proper Nouns: As mentioned above, if it's part of a specific name, like "The Society of Professional Journalists," it should be capitalized.

Hope this helps!
