Most speakers of nonstandard English are illiterate?

That statement is completely false and very harmful. It's important to understand why:

* Nonstandard English is not a sign of illiteracy. It's simply a different dialect or variety of the English language. Many people who speak nonstandard English are highly literate and well-educated. They may have learned a different way of speaking at home or in their community.

* Language is diverse and constantly evolving. There's no single "correct" way to speak English. Every dialect has its own rules and nuances.

* Judging people's intelligence or literacy based on their dialect is discriminatory and unfair. It perpetuates harmful stereotypes and can limit people's opportunities.

Instead of focusing on "standard" vs. "nonstandard" English, it's more productive to recognize and appreciate the rich diversity of the language.
