Why do you need verbs?

Verbs are the heart and soul of language! Here's why we need them:

* Action: Verbs tell us what's happening. They describe actions, occurrences, or states of being. Without verbs, sentences would be like still photographs, unable to show movement or change.

* Meaning: Verbs provide the core meaning of a sentence. They tell us what the subject is *doing* or *experiencing*. Think of them as the action words that make sentences dynamic and lively.

* Structure: Verbs act as the glue that holds sentences together. They help us understand the relationship between the subject and the object.

* Time: Verbs indicate when an action took place (past, present, future). This helps us understand the sequence of events and the flow of time.

* Mood: Verbs convey the speaker's attitude or perspective. They can express certainty, possibility, desire, or command.

Let's illustrate with an example:

* "The cat sits on the mat."

* "sits" is the verb that tells us what the cat is doing.

* Without it, we wouldn't know what's happening.

In short, verbs are essential for conveying meaning, structure, and dynamics in language. They bring sentences to life!
