What does skeptical mean?

"Skeptical" means having an attitude of doubt or questioning towards something. It's a healthy and critical way of thinking that encourages you to:

* Examine evidence carefully: A skeptical person wants to see proof before believing something.

* Consider alternative explanations: They don't accept the first explanation they hear, but look for other possibilities.

* Be open to changing their mind: If new evidence emerges, a skeptical person is willing to revise their opinion.

Examples of skepticism:

* "I'm skeptical about the claims of that new diet pill. I want to see some scientific studies before I believe it."

* "The government's explanation for the incident doesn't seem plausible. I'm skeptical of their claims."

Important Note: Being skeptical doesn't mean being negative or dismissive. It's about being thoughtful and questioning, not simply dismissing ideas out of hand.
