Short vowel words:
* a: cat -> cate
* e: bet -> bete
* i: bit -> bite
* o: cot -> cote
* u: cut -> cute
Longer words:
* bake -> bake
* hope -> hope
* ride -> ride
* smile -> smile
* time -> time
* true -> true
Important Note: This rule only applies to single-syllable words with a short vowel sound followed by a single consonant. There are exceptions to this rule, and some words with silent "e" don't follow this pattern.
