What hybrid is a word composed of?

The word "hybrid" is composed of two parts:

* Hy- from the Greek word "hybris", meaning "insolence", "arrogance", or "overweening pride".

* -brid from the Latin word "brida", meaning "bridle".

Interestingly, while the original meaning of "hybrid" related to something "crossbred", the term has evolved to encompass the idea of something that is a mix or combination of different things, especially in the context of technology.
