Is extinct a pronoun or not?

"Extinct" is not a pronoun. It is an adjective.

Here's why:

* Pronouns stand in for nouns. Examples include "he", "she", "it", "they", "this", "that".

* Adjectives describe nouns. They tell us more about the noun.

In the sentence "The dodo is extinct," "extinct" describes the noun "dodo" and tells us its state of being.
