What sign languages are spoken in Ireland?

Ireland does not have an official sign language. However, Irish Sign Language (ISL) is the most commonly used sign language in the country.

It's important to note that:

* ISL is distinct from British Sign Language (BSL), although they share some similarities.

* There are other sign languages used in Ireland, including:

* Sign Supported English (SSE)

* Fingerspelling

* Various forms of home sign used by families with deaf members.

While ISL is not officially recognized as a language in Ireland, it is increasingly being acknowledged and promoted by organizations and institutions.
