Is it compound or simple complex compound-complex sentence I am going home?

The sentence "I am going home" is a simple sentence.

Here's why:

* Simple Sentence: A simple sentence contains one independent clause (a complete thought with a subject and verb).

* Compound Sentence: A compound sentence contains two or more independent clauses joined by a coordinating conjunction (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so).

* Complex Sentence: A complex sentence contains one independent clause and at least one dependent clause.

* Compound-Complex Sentence: A compound-complex sentence contains two or more independent clauses and at least one dependent clause.

"I am going home" has only one independent clause ("I am going home"). It does not have any dependent clauses or coordinating conjunctions.
