First, water is heated in a kettle until it boils. Once boiling, the water is poured over tea leaves in a teapot or mug. The tea leaves are allowed to steep for a few minutes, depending on the desired strength. After steeping, the tea leaves are removed, either by straining the liquid or by simply removing the teabag. Finally, the tea is enjoyed, either hot or iced, with or without milk or sugar.
