Where did the language Yiddish start?

Yiddish started in Central Europe around the 10th century.

It evolved from Middle High German spoken by Jewish communities living in these areas, with influences from Hebrew and Aramaic. This makes it a Germanic language, but with a distinct linguistic character due to these influences.

It wasn't a single, fixed language that appeared overnight, but rather developed organically over centuries, changing and spreading as Jewish communities migrated and interacted.
