When someone speaks and another writes what is said?

This is called transcription.

It's a common practice in many situations, including:

* Meetings: Taking notes of important decisions and discussions.

* Interviews: Recording conversations for research or analysis.

* Legal proceedings: Documenting testimony and evidence.

* Dictation: Transcribing spoken words into written text.

* Accessibility: Providing text-based versions of audio content for people with hearing impairments.

The person who speaks is the speaker, and the person who writes down what is said is the scribe, transcriber, or notetaker.
