What are the two questions you ask to find a indirect object?

You don't ask questions to find an indirect object. Instead, you look for the following:

1. The verb: Identify the verb in the sentence. Indirect objects are usually found in sentences with verbs that show giving, telling, or doing something for someone.

2. The direct object: Identify the direct object (the thing receiving the action of the verb). The indirect object will be the recipient of the direct object.

Example:

"Sarah gave John the book."

* Verb: Gave

* Direct object: the book (what was given)

* Indirect object: John (who received the book)

Instead of questions, here's how to think about it:

* Who or what is the action done to? (This identifies the direct object)

* To whom or for whom is the action done? (This identifies the indirect object)
