How do you say the word hands in sign language?

There are two common signs for "hands" in American Sign Language (ASL):

1. The "H" handshape with a slight twist:

* Start with your dominant hand in a "H" handshape (thumb extended, other fingers closed).

* Twist your wrist slightly so your palm faces inward.

* Move your hand from your chest outward, as if you are pushing your hands forward.

2. The "5" handshape:

* Start with your dominant hand in a "5" handshape (all fingers extended).

* Move your hand from your chest outward, as if you are pushing your hands forward.

Both signs are accepted and convey the same meaning. You can choose whichever one you prefer.

Note: There are also other signs related to hands, like "hand" (using a "1" handshape) or "finger" (using a "1" handshape and touching your index finger to your chin).
