What are the questions you must ask of verb to find indirect object?

You don't ask questions of a verb to find an indirect object. Instead, you look for the following:

1. Identify the direct object: The direct object is the noun or pronoun that receives the action of the verb.

2. Ask "to whom?" or "for whom?" regarding the direct object:

* If the answer to these questions is a noun or pronoun, then that's the indirect object.

Example:

* Sentence: She gave him a gift.

* Direct object: gift

* Question: To whom did she give the gift?

* Answer: Him (indirect object)

Important Note: Not all sentences have indirect objects. Some verbs simply don't take them.

Here are some examples of verbs that often have indirect objects:

* Give

* Tell

* Show

* Send

* Offer

* Buy

* Make

Remember: An indirect object will always be a noun or pronoun that answers "to whom" or "for whom" in relation to the direct object.
